Insa Gallery opened on March 9, 1994, in Insa-dong and relocated to Hapjeong-dong in 2015. For the past 30 years, Insa Gallery has been exhibiting contemporary Korean and international art.
Throughout the period, Insa Gallery has curated retrospective exhibitions of prominent Korean modern and contemporary artists such as Kim Hwan-Gi, Nam Kwan, and Choi Wook-Kyung. These retrospectives have emphasized various works with drawings, providing a distinct experience that delves into the artists’ subjects and processes. Moreover, Insa gallery has organized numerous large-scale sculpture exhibitions in collaboration with Museo dei Bozzetti, one of the prominent art museums in Pietrasanta, Italy. These collaborations have featured works by renowned sculptors including G. Manzù, A. Pomodoro, and G. Vangi, providing insight into the global trends in modern and contemporary sculpture. Continuously contributing to the expansion and popularization of sculpture collections, Insa gallery has exhibited sculptors such as Jeun Loi-Jin, Kim Kyong-Ok, Cho Young-Ja, Jung Hae-Duck, Ok Hyun-Sook, Kim Byung-Chul, Oh Sang-Wook, Lee Young-joo.
Insa Gallery organizes exhibitions featuring artists who actively pursue clear and consistent transformations in their artistic worlds, including Joh Sung-Joon, Chung Il, Yi Hee-Choung, Sin Ho-Sik, and Lee Kil-Hae. Recently, Insa gallery has taken steps to establish a platform for communication with the public by organizing relay exhibitions such as “Art Syndrome – Symptoms and Healing,” divided into four parts, showcasing vibrant curated exhibitions to introduce emerging artists.
